Sikkim Professional University

The Sikkim Professional  University earlier named as Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University was established in the year 2008 by SPU (Act No.11 of 2008) of Sikkim State Assembly. It has been renamed as Sikkim Professional University videits Amendment Act, 2020 (Act No. 09 of 2020). Duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sikkim Professional University is a centre of quality higher learning aiming to produce highly capable graduates who given an opportunity can compete in today’s corporate world.

Award and achievements

• Sikkim Professional University has been awarded by ASSOCHAM EduTech 100 Summit held on 14th December 2022 in New Delhi for impressive initiatives to boost academic and operational excellence through digital transformation.
• The University has recently been awarded as “Most Inspirational University of the Year 2021“. This prestigious award was given to the University at Education Excellence Conclave held on 18-19 June 2021, supported by the Ministry of Ayush.
• For doing illustrious work in the sphere of higher education, highly esteemed Sikkim Professional University has obtained ISO 9001:2015 Certification. It is an overwhelming moment of pride and joy for Sikkim Professional University for achieving such milestone.
• The University has obtained ISO 9001:2015 on 15 July 2021 for quality management system in the University education, training and degrees such as under graduate and post graduate, diploma, degree and certification.

Placement

There are two types of Campus Placement Programs offered by Sikkim Professional University:

1. On-Campus Placement Drives:

Various companies visit the campus to recruit final year students of all the departments to select them. The process includes various stages such as pre-placement talk, aptitude test, technical test, group discussions, and personal interviews.
 
2. Off-Campus/Pool Campus Placement Drives:

In such drives, recruitment is conducted at a commonplace that may be a particular college, where students from different colleges assemble and take part in the various stages of the campus placement drive. Sometimes, these are also called ‘pool campus drives. Sime of the recruiters are, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Nexus, ICICI Prudential, Cherry Resort, Aristo, and many more.
