Medhavi Skills University (MSU)

Established under the Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim Act, 2021, Medhavi Skills University (MSU) is a state university that has been added to the UGC list of institutions created by Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

As a nascent Skills University, our goal is to harmonise the current frameworks for skill development to establish and advance industry-driven, industry-embedded Higher Education programs that would help India's youth find better jobs. Our fundamental framework is technologically integrated and conforms to the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF) structure as per National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP2020), with roots in the post-pandemic reformations in education. As one of the few universities in the nation, we implement Outcome Based Education (OBE) using a blended learning approach, industry-aligned training, continuous and thorough evaluation, competency-driven curriculum, and new pedagogies.

According to NEP2020, Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has emerged as the top skills university in Eastern and North Eastern India. It is also at the forefront of the movement to integrate higher education with the skilling ecosystem. MSU (Sikkim) is a UGC-recognized state university that was founded in 2021 by an Act passed by the Sikkim State Legislative Assembly. With corporations and industries as stakeholders and influencers in curriculum creation, program delivery, practical skills training, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, etc., MSU is a unique pioneering university model.

According to NEP 2020, the institution provides a broad range of undergraduate programs. Additionally, it has developed a brand-new, student-focused "Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programs (CCFUP)" that integrates a multidisciplinary approach with a flexible, choice-based credit system. Medhavi Skills University (MSU) in Sikkim has a history of good placement rates for its students:

BCA 2022: The BCA program had a 92% placement rate, with an average package of 12 LPA. The highest package was 32 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. Top recruiters included Google and Microsoft. MSU works with industry partners to design programs that combine learning with industry.
