Technical Education in Sikkim is offered right after completion of Class 10th. Following study options are available in Technical areas.
Vocational: Open for students with Class 10th Certificate
Polytechnic Diploma: Open for students with Class 10th/12th certificate
ITI programmes: Open for students who have completed class 12th
Degree Programmes in Engineering or Medicine: Pass class 12th in Science with Mathematics or Biology respectively
Masters programme in Engineering and Medicine: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant study area.
Technical education in Sikkim is regulated by various autonomous apex bodies that come under the purview of the state or Government of India. For example; engineering education is the responsibility of AICTE. Medical education is the responsibility of the Medical Council. For details see Apex Bodies
